How the Auction Works

Before the Auction

Before entering an auction, you can freely configure two things:

  • Auction Assistant — Provides intel during bidding to help you appraise lot values. Choose based on the lots available in each tier.
  • Device Set — Provides additional support tools during the auction. Pair with your Auction Assistant for best results.

There are 3 auction tiers, each with different lots and entry requirements. Higher tiers feature more valuable collectibles but require more Gold Shells to enter.

During the Auction

Each auction consists of 5 rounds of bidding. In each round:

  1. Estimate the total value of the available lots within the time limit.
  2. Use your Auction Assistant and Device Set intel to appraise the lots accurately.
  3. Submit your bid in Gold Shells.

Instant Win Conditions

You can end the auction early by meeting these multiplier thresholds:

RoundInstant Win Condition
Round 1Bid more than the 2nd-highest bid
Round 2Bid more than 1.6× the 2nd-highest bid
Round 3Bid more than 1.3× the 2nd-highest bid
Round 4Bid more than 1.1× the 2nd-highest bid
Round 5Highest bidder wins all lots

Tiebreaker (Round 6)

If players are tied in Round 5, the auction enters Round 6. Only tied players may bid again. If they tie again in Round 6, the auction ends with no sale.

Loss Compensation

If the winning bidder ends the settlement phase at a loss, each of the other three players receives a bonus equal to 10% of the loss amount. This mechanic rewards conservative bidding when others overpay.

Collectibles and the Item Index

Any collectibles you win are automatically added to your Collection. You have two options for each collectible:

  • Sell — Convert it to Gold Shells immediately.
  • Display — Place it in your collection to generate passive income over time.

Filling out your Item Index by collecting different types of lots is required to unlock the full reward track, including the exclusive title.

Tips and Strategy

Appraisal accuracy is everything. The core skill in this event is correctly estimating lot values. Your Auction Assistant and Device Set provide clues — use them to narrow down the value range before bidding.

Don’t overbid early. The instant win thresholds are steep in Round 1 (2×). Unless you have very high confidence in your appraisal, it is usually better to let the auction run to Round 5 rather than commit to a 2× bid.

Exploit the loss compensation mechanic. If another player overbids and ends at a loss, you receive 10% of their loss as a bonus. In competitive auctions, letting an aggressive bidder overpay can be more profitable than winning the lot yourself.

Display high-value collectibles. Displayed collectibles generate income over time, making them more valuable long-term than an immediate sale — especially for rare lots.

Complete the Item Index. The “Highest Bidder Wins” title and “Choice” avatar frame are exclusive to this event and cannot be obtained elsewhere. Prioritize filling out the index across all three auction tiers.
