NTE Esper Reactions Overview

Esper Reactions are elemental interactions triggered when specific element combinations are applied to enemies. Understanding which reactions your characters scale — and which ones remain unscaled — is essential for building optimal teams.

As of Version 1.2, there are 8 esper reactions in NTE. Six have characters with passive bonuses that enhance them; two (Hexed and Stain) currently have no dedicated scaling characters.

All Esper Reactions (Version 1.2)

Blossom

Triggered by: Anima + Cosmos (or Anima + Anima overlap)
Base effect: Explosive burst damage on affected enemies
Characters that scale it:

Hexed ⚠️ No Scaling Characters Yet

Triggered by: Specific element combinations (TBC)
Base effect: Curse-type debuff with damage-over-time
Characters that scale it: None in Version 1.2

This is the most significant gap in the current meta. Hexed triggers normally but receives no passive amplification from any character. Community theory suggests Linko (1.3) may be the first character designed to scale Hexed, which would make her a unique addition rather than an Anima duplicate.

Stain ⚠️ No Scaling Characters Yet

Triggered by: Specific element combinations (TBC)
Base effect: Corrosion-type damage reduction debuff
Characters that scale it: None in Version 1.2

Similar to Hexed, Stain has no dedicated scaling characters. Community prediction: a Version 1.4 character will introduce Stain scaling.

Team Building Implications

Current meta teams are built around the six scaled reactions. The strongest teams in Version 1.2 are:

Blossom team: Nanally + Jiuyuan + Iroi + Support
Remora team: Hathor + Chaos + Skia + Support
Nova team: Fadia + Haniel + Cosmos support

Future meta shift: Once Hexed receives scaling characters (expected 1.3), entirely new team archetypes will become viable. Players who invest in characters that apply Hexed stacks (even without scaling today) will be positioned to benefit immediately when Linko releases.
