With Chaos arriving in the second phase of Neverness to Everness Version 1.1, players are scrambling to figure out the best way to support this powerful Lakshana DPS.
Unlike hyper-carries that just want raw buffs, Chaos’s damage potential is heavily tied to his best-in-slot Cartridge set, Street Boxer. This set specifically rewards teams that can consistently trigger the Remora or Stain effects.
Here is a complete guide to the best team compositions for Chaos, ranging from the premium meta team to free-to-play friendly alternatives.
The Core Mechanic: Remora and Stain
Before building a team, you must understand why Chaos needs specific teammates.
Chaos’s best Cartridge is Street Boxer. The 4-piece effect of this set provides a massive boost to Lakshana DMG and Crit Rate%, but only when the team triggers Remora or Stain. Therefore, your Sub-DPS and Support characters must be able to apply these specific elemental reactions reliably off-field.
The Premium Meta Team (The “Remora/Stain” Core)
This is currently the highest-damaging team for Chaos in the game. It focuses entirely on keeping the Street Boxer buffs active with 100% uptime while providing massive off-field damage and sustain.
- Main DPS: Chaos (Lakshana)
- Sub-DPS: Esper Zero (Cosmos)
- Support 1: Hathor (Psyche)
- Support 2: Haniel (Anima)
How It Works:
- Esper Zero is the premier sub-DPS for Chaos. His off-field Cosmos application interacts perfectly with Lakshana to trigger consistent elemental reactions.
- Hathor provides incredible Psyche-based crowd control and defense shredding, amplifying the damage Chaos deals to grouped enemies.
- Haniel acts as the team’s anchor, providing Anima healing while contributing to the elemental soup required to maintain the Stain effect.
The Alternate Premium Team
If you do not have Haniel or prefer a different playstyle, you can swap out the sustain slot while keeping the core synergy intact.
- Main DPS: Chaos (Lakshana)
- Sub-DPS: Esper Zero (Cosmos) / Hotori (Scorch)
- Support 1: Hathor (Psyche)
- Support 2: Jiuyuan (Synthesis)
How It Works:
Jiuyuan replaces Haniel, trading raw healing for powerful shielding and Synthesis buffs. If you are fighting bosses that can one-shot your characters, Jiuyuan’s shields provide better burst-survival than Haniel’s over-time healing. Hotori can also replace Esper Zero if you need Scorch application to break specific enemy shields (like Serenetti in the Hunter’s Crucible).
The Free-to-Play (F2P) Team
If you blew all your Annulith pulling for Chaos and don’t have the premium S-Rank supports, you can still build a highly effective team using A-Rank characters.
- Main DPS: Chaos (Lakshana)
- Sub-DPS: Skia (Scorch)
- Support 1: Mint (Anima)
- Support 2: Nanally (Lakshana) / Edgar (Cosmos)
How It Works:
- Skia is an excellent A-Rank off-field damage dealer. Her Scorch application is fast and reliable.
- Mint is the best F2P healer in the game. Her Anima healing is more than enough to keep Chaos alive during his on-field rampages.
- Nanally can be used for Lakshana resonance, or Edgar can be slotted in for Cosmos application to help trigger the necessary Cartridge effects.
Quick Tips for Playing Chaos
- Prioritize Cartridge Activation: Always ensure your supports cast their skills before Chaos takes the field. If Remora or Stain isn’t active, Chaos loses a massive chunk of his damage.
- Don’t Overcap Crit Rate: Chaos gets a lot of Crit Rate from his kit, his signature Arc (What’s Desired), and the Street Boxer set. Focus your module sub-stats on Lakshana DMG and ATK% instead.
