Overview

Shinku is a Charge-based DPS character whose damage output depends heavily on maintaining the Charge reaction cycle. Her strongest team includes Hathor as Sub-DPS, but Hathor is a limited S-Class character that many players do not have. This guide covers the best alternatives.

Key requirement: Shinku needs a Charge enabler in her team. Blossom-focused teams (e.g., with Jiuyuan) do not align with her kit and significantly reduce her damage output. Her passive 1 derives a large portion of its damage from the Charge cycle — skipping it is not recommended.

Best Team: Shinku + Zero + Hathor + Iroi

This is Shinku’s strongest team composition when all characters are available.

SlotCharacterRole
Main DPSShinkuCharge burst damage
EnablerZero (MC)Instant cycle, Blossom support
Sub-DPSHathorCharge detonation, +10% CRIT Rate buff
HealerIroiHealing, mark application

Why Hathor: Hathor provides a 10% CRIT Rate team buff and detonates Charge reactions efficiently. She also maintains Remora for a shorter window than Skia, which suits Shinku’s fast rotation.

F2P Alternative: Replace Hathor with Skia

Skia is the recommended Hathor replacement for players who do not have Hathor.

SlotCharacterRole
Main DPSShinkuCharge burst damage
EnablerZero (MC)Instant cycle
Sub-DPSSkiaCharge support, extended Remora
HealerIroi / JiuyuanHealing

Skia vs Hathor comparison:

AttributeHathorSkia
CRIT Rate buff+10% teamNone
Remora durationShorterLonger (maintains further from target)
AvailabilityLimited S-ClassStandard S-Class
Rotation complexityModerateLower

Skia’s longer Remora window is actually useful in content where enemies move frequently. The trade-off is losing Hathor’s 10% CRIT Rate buff, which reduces Shinku’s overall damage by roughly 8–12% depending on her current CRIT Rate.

Rotation note for Skia: Use Skia’s Ultimate first, then her Skill, then swap out. Stay close to the target — Skia’s skill deactivates when the distance to the target becomes too large.

Is Chaos Shinku’s Best Lakshana?

A high-engagement Reddit post (PSA: “No you don’t need Hathor… Chaos is not her BIS Lakshana”) clarified this point for the community.

Short answer: Chaos is not Shinku’s best-in-slot Lakshana. The confusion arose because Chaos works well in many teams, but Shinku’s Charge-focused kit does not benefit from Chaos’s primary synergies.

Shinku’s optimal Lakshana setup prioritizes:

  1. Lost Radiance (4-piece) — DEF ignore bonus that scales with her Charge burst
  2. Cosmos Daze Wild Reverie — CRIT DMG and Cosmos DMG amplification

Chaos’s Lakshana bonuses are oriented toward different reaction types and do not provide the DEF ignore or Cosmos DMG amplification that Shinku’s kit scales with.

Full F2P Team (No Limited Characters)

For players who have neither Hathor nor Iroi, the following team is viable for all current content:

SlotCharacterNotes
Main DPSShinkuCore
EnablerZero (MC)Required for Charge cycle
SupportSkiaCharge support
FlexNanally / MintNanally for additional buffs; Mint for Blossom hybrid

Nanally provides a strong team ATK buff and works in most compositions. Mint can work if you want a secondary damage dealer, though she does not directly support the Charge cycle.

The Zero (MC) Dependency

Multiple community discussions have noted that Zero (the Appraiser/MC) is required in most Shinku teams. This is by design — Zero’s instant cycle mechanic is the most efficient way to maintain Shinku’s Charge rotation, and her entire kit is built around enabling the team.

Zero is a free character obtained through the main story. If you have not leveled Zero, prioritizing her is strongly recommended before investing in Shinku.

Waiting for Iroi

If you do not have a healer for Shinku’s team, Iroi becomes available on July 29, 2026 (Phase 2 of Version 1.2). Iroi is Shinku’s recommended healer due to her mark application synergy.

Until Iroi is available, Jiuyuan works as a temporary healer/support, though she does not contribute to the Charge cycle. Prioritize survivability over damage optimization until Iroi is in your roster.
