The Hunter’s Crucible is a major combat challenge event arriving in Neverness to Everness Version 1.1 “Dreamwalk Corridor”. Running from June 18 to July 8, 2026, this event tests your combat skills against customizable bosses in exchange for massive rewards, including up to 700 Annulith.

Unlike standard boss fights, Hunter’s Crucible allows you to set your own difficulty modifiers. This guide will show you the optimal setup to easily reach the maximum reward threshold without making the fights impossible.

Event Overview & How to Participate

  • Duration: June 18, 10:00 – July 8, 05:59 (UTC+8)
  • How to Unlock: Locate and speak to the “University Graduate” NPC conducting hunter research in Hethereau. This will unlock the event menu.
  • Format: Boss rush with customizable difficulty modifiers (similar to “Contingency Contract” or “Risk” events in other games).
  • Total Bosses: 7 different bosses (including Tagyedo and Magic Dough).

Gameplay Mechanics: The Point System

The core of Hunter’s Crucible is the risk-versus-reward system. Your goal is to reach 5,000 points per boss to unlock all available rewards for that stage.

You earn points through a combination of Base Difficulty and Modifiers:

1. Base Difficulty

You must select a base difficulty before adding modifiers.

  • Simple
  • Normal
  • Difficult
  • Extreme (x5 Multiplier)Highly recommended to select Extreme to reach 5,000 points efficiently.

2. Modifiers (Buffs & Debuffs)

After selecting the base difficulty, you apply modifiers to increase your point multiplier. These include:

  • Time Limit: 300s, 180s, or 120s.
  • Enemy HP Increase: +25%, +50%, or +100%.
  • Enemy Attack Increase: +10%, +25%, or +50%.
  • Elemental Resistances: Increases boss resistance to specific elements (Anima, Incantation, Chaos, etc.) by 5%, 10%, or 15%.

Best Setup for 5,000 Points (F2P Friendly)

To get the maximum rewards, you need 5,000 points. You do not need to check every single debuff box. Here is the most efficient and least frustrating setup for free-to-play (F2P) players:

Modifier CategoryRecommended SettingWhy It Works
Base DifficultyExtreme (x5)Required to reach the 5,000 point threshold without maxing out all debuffs.
Time Limit300 Seconds5 minutes is plenty of time. 120s creates a massive DPS check that F2P teams will struggle with.
Enemy HP+50%+100% makes the boss a damage sponge and risks a time-out. +50% is a safe middle ground.
Enemy Attack+50%As long as you are good at dodging (Red Flash mechanic) and parrying, this is essentially “free” points.
Elemental RES+15% (Off-Elements)Crucial Strategy: Only buff the resistances of elements your team does not use. If you run a Light/Anima team, buff the boss’s Chaos and Psyche resistance. This gives you points for zero penalty to your DPS.

By using this specific combination, the boss hits harder, but your damage output remains unaffected, and you have plenty of time to clear the stage and hit the 5,000-point mark.

Event Rewards Breakdown

Rewards are tiered based on your score for each of the 7 bosses.

Rewards per Boss (at 5,000 Points):

  • 100 Annulith
  • 30,000 Fons
  • 100,000 Beetle Coins
  • Elite Hunter Guides & Chaotic Dye

Total Event Rewards (Clearing all 7 Bosses):

  • 700 Annulith (Nearly 5 pulls)
  • 210,000 Fons
  • 700,000 Beetle Coins
  • “Feast Champion” Title

Additionally, accumulating a total of 15,000 points across the entire event (averaging just over 2,100 points per boss) will unlock an exclusive, limited-time Namecard for your profile.

Preparation Tips

Since the event starts on June 18, you have time to prepare:

  1. Level Your Main DPS: Ensure your primary damage dealer (e.g., Lacrimosa, Zero) is at the maximum level allowed by your current Hunter Level.
  2. Practice Dodging: Since the best strategy involves giving the boss +50% Attack, mastering the perfect dodge (Red Flash) to trigger slow-motion is critical for survival.
  3. Build a Mono-Element Core: The elemental resistance trick only works if your team’s damage is focused on 1 or 2 elements. Avoid “rainbow” teams that deal a mix of every element, or you won’t be able to safely use the resistance modifiers.
