Chaos Overview
Chaos is an S-Rank Lakshana DPS arriving in NTE Version 1.1 Phase 2 (June 24 – July 8, 2026). He wields a scythe and gun combination with a unique fog hound companion that doubles as a teleport anchor in the open world. His kit revolves around two core mechanics: Crime Charges and the Warrant debuff.
Crime Charges accumulate through normal attacks and skill usage, then get spent on Crime Surge for heavy burst damage. Warrant marks a target to amplify all incoming damage by 15–20% for 8 seconds, making Chaos a team-wide damage multiplier in addition to a primary DPS.

Best Arcs for Chaos
Full Arc tier list will be updated after Chaos releases on June 24. The recommendations below are based on pre-release kit analysis.
Pursuit Special (Signature — Best in Slot)
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Main Stat | CRIT DMG |
| Passive | Accelerates Crime Charge generation; bonus Lakshana DMG on Crime Surge |
Chaos’s signature Arc is purpose-built for his kit. The faster charge generation translates directly into more frequent Crime Surge usage, and the Lakshana DMG bonus amplifies his primary damage source. Worth pulling if you plan to invest heavily in Chaos.
Fluff of Fleetness (Strong F2P Alternative)
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Main Stat | CRIT Rate |
| Passive | ATK% bonus on skill use |
Performs within approximately 15% of the signature Arc at R1. The CRIT Rate helps reach the 70–80% breakpoint without Console investment, freeing up secondary stats for CRIT DMG. Recommended for players who skip the signature.
Crimson Tide (Alternative)
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Main Stat | ATK% |
| Passive | CRIT DMG +40% for 10s after Ultimate |
Strong option for players who already own this Arc. The post-Ultimate CRIT DMG window aligns well with Chaos’s burst rotation (Retribution → Crime Surge).
Console Setup
Console tier list will be finalized after Chaos releases. Recommendations are based on current kit data.
Diabolos (Recommended — Best in Slot)
- 2-piece: DMG +15% against debuffed enemies
- 4-piece: DMG +25% against debuffed enemies
Diabolos synergizes directly with Warrant. Since Warrant is applied before Crime Surge in the rotation, the 4-piece bonus is active during Chaos’s highest-damage window. This is the clear best-in-slot Console set.
Crimson Tide (Alternative)
- 2-piece: CRIT DMG +20%
- 4-piece: CRIT DMG +40% for 10s after Ultimate
An alternative for players who lack Diabolos pieces. The CRIT DMG burst window after Retribution pairs well with Crime Surge timing.
Diabolos (2pc) + Crimson Tide (2pc) — Transitional
A viable mixed set while farming for full Diabolos. Provides both debuff damage and CRIT DMG without requiring a complete set.
Recommended Main Stats:
| Slot | Main Stat |
|---|---|
| Offense | CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG |
| Support | ATK% |
| Special | Lakshana DMG Bonus |
Sub-stat Priority: CRIT Rate → CRIT DMG → ATK% → Energy Recharge
Team Compositions
Optimal Hexed Team
Chaos + Chenxing + Sakiri + Fadia
Chenxing provides Lakshana resonance and energy generation. Sakiri offers grouping and Hex support. Fadia heals and provides the Hexed Cycle trigger (Lakshana + Psyche). This team maximizes Chaos’s damage ceiling through consistent Warrant uptime and Hexed reaction damage.
F2P Hexed Team
Chaos + Adler + Haniel + Flex
Adler provides Break support and Lakshana resonance at A-Rank accessibility. Haniel offers healing and Psyche element for Hexed triggers. The flex slot can be filled by any grouping or shielding character.
Hybrid Team
Chaos + Daffodill + Sakiri + Baicang
Daffodill’s ATK buffs amplify Crime Surge damage. Sakiri groups enemies for AoE efficiency. Baicang provides survivability. This team trades Cycle reactions for raw damage output.
Awakening Priority
| Priority | Awakening | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | Awakening 1 | Crime Charges generate 20% faster — significant DPS increase |
| 2nd | Awakening 2 | Warrant amplification increases to 20% — team-wide benefit |
| 3rd | Awakening 4 | Fog hound gains AoE attacks in Frenzy state |
| 4th | Awakening 6 | Retribution resets Crime Surge cooldown — enables double burst |
Awakening 1 and 2 provide the most impactful gains. Awakening 6 is a significant power spike but requires six copies of Chaos, making it a long-term investment.
Basic Rotation
Detailed rotation guide will be updated after Chaos releases on June 24.
General Priority:
- Apply Warrant Mark on target
- Build Crime Charges with Normal attacks (Reaper’s Toll)
- Use Crime Surge at or near max charges
- Use Retribution when available to reapply Warrant to all enemies
- Tag in supports for buffs, then tag back to Chaos for Crime Surge
Should You Pull?
Chaos arrives in Phase 2 (June 24 – July 8). Consider pulling if:
- You need a strong Lakshana DPS — currently limited options in this element
- You value open-world exploration utility — the teleport anchor is unique in NTE
- You want a team damage amplifier — Warrant benefits all party members
- You skipped Lacrimosa in Phase 1 and have saved resources
Skip if you already invested heavily in Lacrimosa during Phase 1 and lack resources for both. Chaos will likely receive a rerun in future patches.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Chaos better than Lacrimosa? They serve different roles. Lacrimosa excels at sustained DoT and Discord reactions. Chaos provides burst damage and team-wide amplification through Warrant. In pure DPS checks, Lacrimosa edges ahead at equal investment, but Chaos offers more team utility.
Can Chaos and Lacrimosa be on the same team? Yes, but it is not optimal. They compete for field time and trigger different Cycles (Discord vs Hexed). Running them together sacrifices reaction synergy.
Is the Pursuit Special Arc necessary? No. Fluff of Fleetness performs within 15% of the signature at R1. The signature’s main advantage is quality-of-life (faster charge generation) rather than raw damage.
When does Chaos release? Chaos’s limited banner runs from June 24 to July 8, 2026, as part of NTE Version 1.1 Phase 2.
