What Are Mystery Buttons?
Mystery Buttons are the event currency for the 999 Nights permanent mode in NTE Version 1.2. They are earned by defeating enemies on the Warren Continent and can be spent in the Button Shop for exclusive outfits, cosmetics, Annulith, and Fons.
To purchase every item in the Button Shop, you need approximately 131,960 Mystery Buttons total. Efficient farming is essential to clear the shop before the event period ends.

Best Farming Method: Shinku AoE Build
The fastest farming method uses Shinku’s dodge-triggered AoE to clear large groups of enemies simultaneously, reaching 2,000–4,000 Mystery Buttons per minute.
Required Team
| Character | Role |
|---|---|
| Shinku | Core AoE farmer |
| Zero (Appraiser) | Flame mark detonator |
| Iroi | Mark application support |
| Mint | Damage amplifier |
Core Equipment Priority
- Zero’s weapon — detonates flame marks placed on enemies; provides additional bonuses afterward
- Shinku’s weapon — applies marks through her character state and dodge effects
- Shinku’s dodge accessories (×2) — expand her red damage circles as more enemies receive marks
- Iroi’s twin necklace — helps the whole team apply marks more consistently
How the Build Works
The build revolves around placing flame marks on enemies and then detonating them:
- Zero detonates marks for burst damage
- Iroi helps apply marks more frequently
- Shinku’s dodge effects spread damage over a large area
One of Shinku’s accessories increases her dodge-triggered effect range based on how many marked enemies are present. After several successful dodges, the red damage circles expand to cover enemies outside the visible screen — up to 80% of the surrounding farming area.
Best Farming Location
Amber Sugar Lake — eastern area, near the Bonfire before the boss room
This location is optimal because:
- Many enemies are positioned close together
- Scorpions in the area can drop useful key items
- The nearby Bonfire makes enemy resets instant
- Shinku’s expanded AoE range can reach most nearby enemy groups
Step-by-Step Farming Loop
- Enable Auto-Pickup before starting (enemies die off-screen; items will be missed without it)
- Teleport to the Bonfire in the eastern area of Amber Sugar Lake
- Pass through the nearby gate into the scorpion area
- Allow enemies to attack Shinku, then dodge 3 times to expand her red damage circles
- Once damage numbers appear outside the visible screen, stand still and let the build clear automatically
- Return to the Bonfire to reset enemies
- Repeat — after the first wave, a single dodge at the start of each new wave is usually enough
Expected Farming Rates
| Build Progress | Mystery Buttons per Minute |
|---|---|
| Functional (core weapons only) | 2,000+ |
| Complete core equipment | 3,000+ |
| Fully optimized endgame setup | Up to 4,000 |
At 3,000 per minute, clearing 131,960 Mystery Buttons takes approximately 44 minutes of active farming. A fully optimized setup cuts this to under 35 minutes.
Alternative: Bonfire Reset Without Shinku Build
If you do not have the required equipment for the Shinku AoE build, you can still farm efficiently using the basic Bonfire reset loop:
- Clear enemies in any high-density area
- Rest at the nearest Bonfire to instantly respawn enemies
- Repeat
This method yields approximately 500–800 Mystery Buttons per minute depending on your team’s damage output — slower than the AoE build but accessible to all players.
Tips
Check your gear before farming. The Shinku AoE build requires specific weapons and accessories. If your setup is incomplete, the farming rate will be much lower. Prioritize getting Zero’s weapon and Shinku’s weapon first.
Farm during the event period. 999 Nights is permanent, but the Button Shop may rotate or close after Version 1.2 ends. Clear the exclusive outfits before August 19, 2026.
Iroi’s outfit unlocks July 29. If you want Iroi’s Button Shop outfit, wait until Phase 2 starts on July 29 before spending Mystery Buttons on lower-priority items.
