Overview
The Rover A1 is every player’s first vehicle, unlocked automatically after defeating your first film anomaly during the early story. It’s slow and fragile, but the summon-anywhere advantage of motorcycles means it remains useful even after you buy expensive cars.
How to Unlock
Simply progress through the main story. After meeting your team at the antique shop and completing your first commission against a film anomaly, the Rover A1 is automatically added to your inventory.
When to Upgrade
The Rover A1 is serviceable for the first 10-20 hours of gameplay. Consider upgrading when:
- You find yourself frustrated by its slow speed during daily commissions
- You want to participate in racing content (motorcycles can’t race)
- You have 250,000+ Fons saved for the Novis ST-X 950, or 600,000 for the ST79
Pro Tip
Even endgame players keep the Rover A1 on their hotbar as a backup. Its instant summon in tight spaces (alleys, indoors, rooftops) makes it useful when your car can’t be summoned. It costs nothing to keep around.
