Team Building Principles for Shinku

Shinku’s team building is shaped by her Charge Enhancement passive: whenever the Charge reaction generates Ultimate energy for the active character, all off-field characters receive the same energy. This means teams that trigger Charge frequently allow Shinku to re-enter Surging Crimson much faster.

The Charge reaction requires Remora (Lakshana + Cosmos) or Blossom (Anima + Cosmos) to be active. Since Shinku is Cosmos, your team needs at least one Lakshana and one Anima character to complete the reaction chain.

Ideal reaction chain: Remora (Lakshana + Cosmos) → Blossom (Anima + Cosmos) → Charge → Ultimate energy for all characters

Best Team Compositions

Team 1: Charge Cycling Core (Best Overall)

RoleCharacterElementWhy
Main DPSShinkuCosmosSurging Crimson burst carry
Sub-DPSHathorLakshanaRemora reaction; burst damage during Shinku’s downtime
HealerIroiAnimaBlossom reaction; Regression safety net; Speedy Hedgehog ATK buff
Sub-DPSJiuyuanAnimaGrouping; additional Anima for Blossom; flexible sub-DPS

This is the intended Version 1.2 team. Hathor provides Lakshana for Remora, Iroi and Jiuyuan both provide Anima for Blossom, and the resulting Charge reaction feeds Ultimate energy to the entire team via Shinku’s passive. Iroi’s Regression mechanic ensures the team survives Shinku’s aggressive frontline playstyle.

Rotation: Iroi Support Skill (heal + Imagination) → Jiuyuan grouping → Hathor Lakshana application → Shinku Basic Attack to build Defiant Spirit → Shinku Ultimate (Surging Crimson) → Shinku burst → repeat

Team 2: Safer Variant (Edgar Instead of Iroi)

RoleCharacterElementWhy
Main DPSShinkuCosmosBurst carry
Sub-DPSHathorLakshanaRemora reaction
Sub-DPS / HealerEdgarCosmosSecond Cosmos source; healing; safer than Iroi variants
Sub-DPSJiuyuanAnimaBlossom + Charge setup

Edgar replaces Iroi here, adding a second Cosmos source for more consistent Remora triggers while providing healing. Slightly lower burst ceiling than the Iroi variant but more forgiving for players who don’t have Iroi.

Team 3: Zero Acceleration Team

RoleCharacterElementWhy
Main DPSShinkuCosmosBurst carry
Sub-DPSHathorLakshanaRemora reaction
Sub-DPSJiuyuanAnimaBlossom + Charge
BufferEsper ZeroEsper Meter refill; accelerates Remora → Blossom → Charge cycle

Zero’s Esper Meter refill lets the team trigger reactions more frequently, which feeds more Ultimate energy to Shinku. Trade-off: no dedicated healer, so this team requires better dodge timing.

Team 4: F2P Budget Team

RoleCharacterElementWhy
Main DPSShinkuCosmosBurst carry
Sub-DPSMintCosmosCosmos coverage; easy to obtain
Sub-DPSJiuyuanAnimaBlossom setup; grouping
HealerHathorLakshanaRemora + healing

A more accessible version using Mint (standard banner) instead of Iroi. Loses the Regression safety mechanic but maintains the core Charge cycling loop.

Characters to Avoid Pairing with Shinku

Avoid stacking multiple Cosmos DPS. Shinku needs field time to build Defiant Spirit and execute her Surging Crimson burst. Running two Cosmos DPS characters (e.g., Shinku + Chiz) creates field time competition and reduces both characters’ effectiveness.

Avoid pure buffer teams without reaction enablers. Shinku’s Charge Enhancement passive only works if Charge is actually triggering. A team of pure buffers without Lakshana + Anima coverage wastes her most powerful passive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Shinku work without Iroi? Yes. Iroi is Shinku’s best partner but not required. Edgar, Hathor, or Nanally can provide healing in her place.

Does Shinku need her signature Arc? No, but it significantly increases her damage ceiling. What’s Desired is a strong F2P-accessible alternative that activates its CRIT DMG buff during Shinku’s burst windows.

Is Shinku good for solo content? Yes. Her Surging Crimson form deals strong single-target damage, and her Charge Enhancement passive still provides energy even in solo play.
