Shinku’s Dragon Knight outfit is one of the most talked-about cosmetics revealed in the NTE 1.2 “999 Nights” Special Program. The armored design, combined with exclusive visual effects and a direct interaction with the new Draco vehicle, has made it the standout cosmetic of the upcoming patch.
What Is the Dragon Knight Outfit?
The Dragon Knight outfit is a premium costume for Shinku, themed around the 999 Nights RPG mode introduced in Version 1.2. In the mode’s story, Shinku takes on the role of a Dragon Knight as the party ventures into the Warren Continent to slay the Crimson Dragon.
Unlike Shinku’s standard outfits, the Dragon Knight outfit includes:
- Exclusive visual effects — unique particle and animation effects not present in other outfits
- Vehicle interaction — special visual effects when riding The Draco, the new Regalia-class motorcycle added in 1.2
- Dye customization — players can change the color and texture of the outfit using dyes
Is the Dragon Knight Outfit Free?
Based on the information revealed during the 1.2 livestream, the Dragon Knight outfit is a premium, paid cosmetic. It will not be obtainable for free through the 999 Nights game mode.
The confusion stems from the fact that 999 Nights does offer free outfits — specifically, the four-member party (Zero, Mint, Iroi, and Shinku) each receive three 999 Nights-themed outfits through gameplay. However, the Dragon Knight outfit, which features special effects and vehicle synergy, is a separate premium item.
This follows the same pattern as other high-tier cosmetics in NTE, such as Lacrimosa’s Nightingale’s Crescendo outfit, which also featured exclusive effects and was sold separately.
All Shinku Outfits in Version 1.2
Version 1.2 introduces a total of six outfits for Shinku across two categories:

| 999 Nights Outfit 2 | 999 Nights game mode (free) | None |

Note: The three 999 Nights outfits support dye customization, allowing players to change colors and textures. The Dragon Knight outfit also supports dye customization.
The Draco Vehicle Interaction
The Dragon Knight outfit has a special visual synergy with The Draco, the new Regalia-class motorcycle introduced in 1.2. When Shinku wears the Dragon Knight outfit while riding The Draco, unique visual effects are triggered — making this the first outfit in NTE to have a direct cosmetic interaction with a specific vehicle.
The Draco itself features a unique trail effect and spinning wheel animations during sharp drifts, and also has a jump ability, making it one of the more feature-rich vehicles in the game.
Should You Buy the Dragon Knight Outfit?
The Dragon Knight outfit is purely cosmetic and has no impact on Shinku’s combat performance. Whether to purchase it comes down to personal preference and budget. Players who are primarily focused on Shinku’s gameplay should prioritize pulling for her banner (July 8 to July 29) and her Signature Arc (Blushing Mirage) before considering cosmetic purchases.
For players interested in the outfit, it is worth waiting for the official pricing announcement after the 1.2 update goes live on July 8, 2026.
