Overview
Adler functions as a defensive support who provides shields through his Blessing mechanic while contributing Incantation DMG over time. His Karma system rewards sustained combat, with each Basic Attack hit building stacks that empower his Skill’s damage output. At higher awakening levels, Adler becomes a reliable shielder who can protect the team without needing a dedicated healer.
His primary value is the Shield of Blessing from Ultimate, which protects all teammates simultaneously. Combined with his A1 instant Karma generation, Adler can cycle between shielding and burst damage efficiently.
Key Mechanics
Karma System
| Property | Detail |
|---|---|
| Generation | 1 stack per Basic Attack hit |
| Maximum | 20 stacks |
| Consumption | Evil’s Bane (Skill) consumes all stacks |
| Damage Bonus | +2% Skill DMG per Karma stack (max +40% at 20) |
| A1 Enhancement | Tranquility grants 20 stacks instantly |
| A2 Enhancement | Each stack also grants +3% DMG Bonus |
The Karma system creates a build-spend rhythm: accumulate through Basic Attacks (or A1 instant grant), then release through Skill for amplified damage. At A1, the rotation simplifies dramatically: Ultimate → Skill for instant max-damage burst.
Shield of Blessing (Ultimate)
| Property | Detail |
|---|---|
| Application | All teammates simultaneously |
| Scaling | Shield strength scales with DEF% |
| Base Duration | Standard duration (12s at A6) |
| A3 Enhancement | Shield strength +20% |
| A4 Enhancement | Absorbs overflow damage based on 50% DEF when shield breaks |
| A6 Enhancement | Duration extended to 12 seconds |
Shield of Blessing is Adler’s core team contribution. At A6, the 12-second duration provides near-permanent protection when combined with Energy Regen for faster Ultimate cycling.
Incantation Conversion (Passive)
| Property | Detail |
|---|---|
| Effect | Converts excess Karma into Incantation DMG over time |
| Trigger | When Karma exceeds threshold during Blessing |
| Scaling | Higher Karma = more DoT damage |
| Team Benefit | Provides Scorch reaction triggers (Incantation element) |
This passive allows Adler to contribute damage even while functioning as a shielder, making him a hybrid support/sub-DPS.
Best Build
Arc (Weapon)
| Priority | Arc | Why |
|---|---|---|
| BiS | Kingdom’s Guard | Defensive bonuses synergize with shield-focused kit |
| Alt | Crimson: Twin Butterflies | Hybrid offensive/defensive bonuses |
| Budget | Mind Royale | Energy regeneration for faster shield cycling |
Cartridge Set
Kingdom’s Guard (4-piece) provides DEF bonuses that directly increase Shield of Blessing strength and A4 overflow absorption.
Alternative: Crimson: Twin Butterflies for hybrid builds.
Stat Priority
| Slot | Main Stat | Sub-Stats |
|---|---|---|
| Module 1 | DEF% | ATK% > Energy Regen > HP% |
| Module 2 | DEF% | Energy Regen > ATK% > HP% |
| Module 3 | Energy Regen | DEF% > ATK% > HP% |
DEF% is the top priority because Shield of Blessing strength scales directly with DEF. Energy Regen is critical for maintaining shield uptime through faster Ultimate cycling.
Skill Priority
Ultimate > Skill > Basic Attack > Support Skill
Ultimate receives the highest priority because Shield of Blessing is Adler’s primary team contribution and scales with level.
Awakening Priority
| Priority | Level | Effect | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1st | A1 | Form — Grants 20 Karma when casting Tranquility | Eliminates stack building time |
| 2nd | A6 | All Forms Are Void — Blessing duration to 12s | Near-permanent shield uptime |
| 3rd | A3 | Perception — Shield +20% | Direct survivability increase |
| 4th | A4 | Formation — Overflow absorption based on 50% DEF | Safety net when shield breaks |
| 5th | A2 | Sensation — +3% DMG Bonus per Karma stack | Personal damage increase |
| 6th | A5 | Discernment — +20 Ultimate Energy on Tranquility cast | Faster cycling |
A1 is transformative because it eliminates the need to build Karma through Basic Attacks. The rotation becomes: Ultimate (shield + 20 Karma) → Skill (max damage) → switch to DPS.
Resonance
| Level | Effect |
|---|---|
| R1 Cleanse | Increases skill level of Deliverance, Evil’s Bane, and Tranquility by 1 |
| R2 Enlightened Guardian | +10% team Incantation DMG while protected by Blessing |
R2 provides a team-wide Incantation DMG buff during Blessing uptime, benefiting Incantation DPS characters (Baicang, Sakiri).
Best Teams
Blossom Carry Team
| Slot | Character | Element | Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main DPS | Nanally | Anima | Authority DPS |
| Shielder | Adler | Incantation | Blessing shield + Scorch trigger |
| Buffer | Sakiri | Incantation | ATK buff + Incantation resonance |
| Support | Jiuyuan | Lakshana | Charged reaction + energy |
Adler replaces a healer with shields, freeing Sakiri to focus purely on buffing. Dual Incantation provides elemental resonance.
Budget Energy Team
| Slot | Character | Element | Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main DPS | Chiz | Cosmos | Grain DPS |
| Shielder | Adler | Incantation | Blessing shield + Scorch trigger |
| Sub DPS | Hathor | Lakshana | Burst + Remora |
| Buffer | Haniel | Psyche | ATK buff + Nova |
Adler provides protection without needing a dedicated healer slot, allowing the team to run three damage-contributing characters.
ETD-4 Team
| Slot | Character | Element | Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main DPS | Baicang | Incantation | Power Word DPS |
| Shielder | Adler | Incantation | Shield + Incantation resonance |
| Sub DPS | Skia | Lakshana | Stealth burst |
| Tank | Fadia | Psyche | Damage redirect |
Double protection (Adler shield + Fadia redirect) makes this team nearly unkillable. R2 provides +10% Incantation DMG to Baicang during Blessing uptime.
Gameplay Tips
Adler’s standard rotation with A1 is extremely efficient: activate Ultimate (Shield of Blessing + 20 Karma instantly) → immediately use Skill (Evil’s Bane at max 40% bonus) → switch to main DPS. The entire sequence takes about 2 seconds of field time.
Without A1, build 20 Karma stacks through Basic Attacks (5 hits × 4 = 20 stacks from one full combo cycle) before using Skill. This is slower but still effective.
At A6, the 12-second Blessing duration combined with Energy Regen substats can achieve near-permanent shield uptime. Aim for Ultimate ready every 12 seconds to maintain continuous protection.
Adler’s Incantation element provides Scorch triggers when switching to Cosmos or Chaos characters. This makes him useful in DoT teams even beyond his shielding utility.
