Overview

Adler functions as a defensive support who provides shields through his Blessing mechanic while contributing Incantation DMG over time. His Karma system rewards sustained combat, with each Basic Attack hit building stacks that empower his Skill’s damage output. At higher awakening levels, Adler becomes a reliable shielder who can protect the team without needing a dedicated healer.

His primary value is the Shield of Blessing from Ultimate, which protects all teammates simultaneously. Combined with his A1 instant Karma generation, Adler can cycle between shielding and burst damage efficiently.

Key Mechanics

Karma System

PropertyDetail
Generation1 stack per Basic Attack hit
Maximum20 stacks
ConsumptionEvil’s Bane (Skill) consumes all stacks
Damage Bonus+2% Skill DMG per Karma stack (max +40% at 20)
A1 EnhancementTranquility grants 20 stacks instantly
A2 EnhancementEach stack also grants +3% DMG Bonus

The Karma system creates a build-spend rhythm: accumulate through Basic Attacks (or A1 instant grant), then release through Skill for amplified damage. At A1, the rotation simplifies dramatically: Ultimate → Skill for instant max-damage burst.

Shield of Blessing (Ultimate)

PropertyDetail
ApplicationAll teammates simultaneously
ScalingShield strength scales with DEF%
Base DurationStandard duration (12s at A6)
A3 EnhancementShield strength +20%
A4 EnhancementAbsorbs overflow damage based on 50% DEF when shield breaks
A6 EnhancementDuration extended to 12 seconds

Shield of Blessing is Adler’s core team contribution. At A6, the 12-second duration provides near-permanent protection when combined with Energy Regen for faster Ultimate cycling.

Incantation Conversion (Passive)

PropertyDetail
EffectConverts excess Karma into Incantation DMG over time
TriggerWhen Karma exceeds threshold during Blessing
ScalingHigher Karma = more DoT damage
Team BenefitProvides Scorch reaction triggers (Incantation element)

This passive allows Adler to contribute damage even while functioning as a shielder, making him a hybrid support/sub-DPS.

Cartridge Set

Kingdom’s Guard (4-piece) provides DEF bonuses that directly increase Shield of Blessing strength and A4 overflow absorption.

Alternative: Crimson: Twin Butterflies for hybrid builds.

Stat Priority

SlotMain StatSub-Stats
Module 1DEF%ATK% > Energy Regen > HP%
Module 2DEF%Energy Regen > ATK% > HP%
Module 3Energy RegenDEF% > ATK% > HP%

DEF% is the top priority because Shield of Blessing strength scales directly with DEF. Energy Regen is critical for maintaining shield uptime through faster Ultimate cycling.

Skill Priority

Ultimate > Skill > Basic Attack > Support Skill

Ultimate receives the highest priority because Shield of Blessing is Adler’s primary team contribution and scales with level.

Awakening Priority

A1 is transformative because it eliminates the need to build Karma through Basic Attacks. The rotation becomes: Ultimate (shield + 20 Karma) → Skill (max damage) → switch to DPS.

Double protection (Adler shield + Fadia redirect) makes this team nearly unkillable. R2 provides +10% Incantation DMG to Baicang during Blessing uptime.

Gameplay Tips

Adler’s standard rotation with A1 is extremely efficient: activate Ultimate (Shield of Blessing + 20 Karma instantly) → immediately use Skill (Evil’s Bane at max 40% bonus) → switch to main DPS. The entire sequence takes about 2 seconds of field time.

Without A1, build 20 Karma stacks through Basic Attacks (5 hits × 4 = 20 stacks from one full combo cycle) before using Skill. This is slower but still effective.

At A6, the 12-second Blessing duration combined with Energy Regen substats can achieve near-permanent shield uptime. Aim for Ultimate ready every 12 seconds to maintain continuous protection.

Adler’s Incantation element provides Scorch triggers when switching to Cosmos or Chaos characters. This makes him useful in DoT teams even beyond his shielding utility.
